Alabaster 04:14
Alabaster behind the wheel of a yellow cab on the outskirts of Birmingham he dreams of a traffic jam in Manhattan below the city in a subway car she feels just like a shooting star never thought she could get so far from her old man the last phone booth in New York City ringin’ all day callin’ somebody home she doesn’t answer she walks faster she won’t be goin’ back to Alabaster 1000 miles away she still feels it scrape of his chin, the bruise on her spirit home is callin’ but she won’t get near it ever again steps on the gas tries to harness the anger last thing he’d do is try to understand her stuck in time like a fly in the amber never transcends CHORUS time passes and distance grows wider dark future looks brighter and brighter she’s got a new heart beating inside her… she’s her own master (she won’t be goin’ back) she’s her own master (she won’t be goin’ back) CHORUS
2.
Little Bit Sweet every time I go back home brush the leaves off the stone from the grave I look up the hill same old trees stand there still it’s a little bit sweet it’s a little bit bitter in my old bed I fall asleep and the spirits visit me I wake up and I’m all alone stuck inside my skin and bone it’s a little bit sweet it’s a little bit bitter bittersweet that’s the way love is made to be as I hold my little boy’s hand feel him growin’ up so fast and my father holds on to mine feel him shakin’ hands with time it’s a little bit sweet it’s a little bit bitter CHORUS I look my lover straight in the eye stops the clock she looks in mine precious moment I’m holdin’ on then she blinks the moment’s gone CHORUS
3.
Jitterbug Love I heard that the devil was an idea made up by man a long time after Jesus lived to keep us from misbehavin’ they stole his horns and cloven hooves from an old god named Pan when he blew his pipes you had to dance cause everything got wild I’m crazy for you, crazy for you there’s a kingdom in my mind where I find you all the time I’m crazy for you, crazy for you and I hope that you are crazy for me too it’s hidden in the scriptures, so clear in the songs of the birds when I stumble on the truth I forget everything I’ve learned I listen to the story teller, he doesn’t know what he’s talking about he’s here to stay between my ears, I’ll never get him out CHORUS I heard that love is everywhere in every ripple in the sea so I dance for no good reason but to dive into the deep I try to let go of the story that keeps dragging me along still I believe every single word even though I know it’s wrong CHORUS
4.
Cry Over Nothing got a lot of balls in the air too many to count but I don’t care if they all fall on the floor I don’t cry over nothin’ anymore I got daydreams that last all night I got romance unrequited I just fall on my sword I don’t cry over nothin’ anymore I break down when it’s rainin’ fall apart when I get bored but I don’t cry over nothin’ over nothin’ I don’t cry over nothin’… world is broken sick and tired so many bullets crooks and liars and wannabe troubadours I don’t cry over nothing anymore
5.
Don’t Think About My Death there’s a bottle on the table there’s a fire in the glass there’s a long list of things I should be doing I’m not gonna get very far tonight I’m not gonna get very far it’s late in the evening I woke up an hour ago there’s another bed where I should be sleeping I’m not gonna get very far tonight I’m not gonna get very far I will get by starin’ at the moon I will get high all alone in my room I will survive these stories in my head when I’m loving you I don’t think about my death when I’m loving you I don’t think about my death there’s a bible in the drawer there’s a highway out the window there’s another road I should be traveling I’m not gonna get very far tonight I’m not gonna get very far this time I’m not gonna get very far CHORUS

Little Bit Broken the more I look the more I find there’s no perfect heart like you see on a valentine the more I see the more I notice everybody is a little bit broken everybody is a little bit broken and it’s alright everybody is a little bit broken and it’s alright it’s alright to be broken you’re spreadin’ those ashes all around love is a flame never goes out look up in the sky see the rise of the smokin’ everybody is a little bit broken CHORUS the more I live the more I know I should wear my scars like medals of gold every beat up heart’s got more soul and everybody is a little bit broken CHORUS
